SCC contributes to newly released book on Nordic arbitration
The inaugural Nordic Commercial Arbitration Forum convened in Stockholm on 11 March 2025 and now continues through the newly released book: Nordic Commercial Arbitration Forum 2025 – Nordic Arbitration: A Strategic Choice for Business. Drawing on contributions from more than two dozen practitioners, academics and institutional leaders, the book distils why the Nordics present a compelling, business-friendly seat for international disputes and how the region’s institutions innovate to meet user needs.
SCC releases new report “Settlements in cases administered under the SCC Rules”
The SCC has published a new report titled “Settlements in cases administered under the SCC Rules”. The report, co-authored by Jake Lowther, Raoul J. Sievers, and Joakim Raivio, provides an in-depth analysis of settlement patterns in arbitrations conducted under the SCC Arbitration Rules and the SCC Expedited Arbitration Rules between 2021 and 2023.

What does it cost?
The costs consist of the fee to the arbitrators/mediator, the administrative fee of the SCC and any expenses incurred.
The SCC determines the costs based on the amount in dispute, which is the total value of all claims, counterclaims and set-offs. This means that the parties often can anticipate the arbitration costs. Use the calculator to estimate such costs.
When the amount in dispute exceeds EUR 100 000 000 the SCC Board determines the Advance on Costs based on a case by case analysis.
