Applications now open: Arbitrator Training Programme in Swedish 2026
The Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA), in collaboration with the SCC Arbitration Institute, is pleased to announce the opening of applications for our prestigious Arbitrator Training Programme 2026.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from leading practitioners, build their network within the international arbitration community, and contribute to Sweden’s continued excellence as a premier arbitration seat.
The programme comprises 14 comprehensive sessions, mainly in Swedish, covering Swedish and international arbitration law, delivered by experienced Swedish and international arbitration practitioners. Running from February to December 2026, this intensive training represents a milestone for legal professionals seeking to advance their careers in international arbitration.
Programme structure and curriculum
The programme consists of three-hour sessions held approximately once per month, with all sessions taking place in Stockholm. The comprehensive curriculum covers all essential topics for arbitrators, including the role of arbitration institutes, appointment of arbitrators, jurisdictional issues, procedural matters, evidence-taking, award writing, and the distinctive features of international arbitration.

Eligibility and target participants
We seek applications from lawyers with substantial experience acting as counsel in Swedish and/or international arbitrations. Prior arbitrator experience is advantageous but not required. Most successful applicants are typically between 35 and 50 years of age and demonstrate strong motivation and commitment to active participation in all programme activities.
Please note that this programme is both highly rewarding and demanding. Applicants must be able to dedicate approximately one full day every fortnight to preparation work and commit to attending all sessions in person in Stockholm.
Application process
Due to limited places, SAA and SCC will select participants at their discretion if the programme is oversubscribed. You are therefore asked to include your CV and a motivational letter explaining why you should be admitted.
The application deadline is 25 November 2025.
The course fee is SEK 20,000 (excluding VAT).
