SCC Arbitration Institute

SCC Council for Swedish Arbitration

An initiative to strengthen Swedish arbitration internationally

In 2025, the SCC Arbitration Institute established the SCC Council for Swedish Arbitration. This Council consists of prominent Swedish lawyers with extensive experience in international arbitration. Together, the SCC and the SCC Council for Swedish Arbitration work to strengthen the position of the SCC and Sweden in the international arbitration arena.

Purpose and background

The main purpose of the Council is to further strengthen the position of the SCC and Sweden as an attractive choice for international dispute resolution. It builds on experiences from previous initiatives such as the Stockholm Arbitration Network (SAN) and the successful SCC Arbitrators’ Council.

The background to the initiative is the positive development of the number of international commercial disputes that Sweden has seen in recent years, as well as their diversification.
