Arbitrator Training Programme
The Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA), in cooperation with the SCC Arbitration Institute, is once again organising a unique arbitration training programme tailored to Swedish conditions.
The main idea behind the course is to rejuvenate and expand the Swedish arbitration corps so that more international disputes are brought to Sweden.
The programme is very rewarding but at the same time relatively demanding. You should not enrol unless you are able to devote approximately one full day every two weeks to preparing for the various training sessions. You should also be prepared to attend all training sessions on site in Stockholm. Please note that all trainers are unpaid.

Who can apply?
The target group for the Arbitrator Training Programme 2026 is lawyers with experience of acting as counsel in Swedish or international arbitration proceedings. Experience as an arbitrator is an advantage.
We expect that most of the participants will be between 35 and 50 years old. Participants are expected to be motivated and willing to prepare for the course (homework and group work are included) and to participate actively in the discussions.
Participants are also expected to have relatively good prior knowledge of arbitration law. The SAA and SCC will select participants on a case-by-case basis if the course is oversubscribed. You are therefore requested to include your CV and a letter of motivation in your application.
Course content
14 sessions on Swedish and international arbitration law with experienced Swedish and foreign arbitrators. The courses will mainly be held from 18.00–21.00 (with some exceptions) approximately one day a month. All courses will be held in Stockholm. We reserve the right to make changes to the schedule.
Please note that the programme will be held in Swedish.
