About the SCC Service for Appointment of Valuation Experts
The SCC offers parties access to independent and impartial valuation experts, auditors, and other professionals to assist with the valuation of shares, companies, and other assets.
Such services are particularly valuable in situations where partners in a company cannot agree on the value of shares—for example, when majority shareholders exercise their right to redeem shares from minority shareholders. Valuation experts can also provide impartial valuations in the context of corporate transactions, pledging, or divorce, etcetera, and provide opinions on interpreting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other best accounting practices.
A fundamental requirement for utilizing this SCC service is that the disputed contract refers to the SCC, either through a specific provision in the agreement or an ad hoc agreement between the parties after a dispute has arisen.
