The settlement shuffle – Dancing from dispute to consensus

During SCC Arbitration Week, a dedicated session explored settlements, drawing on findings from the SCC Report Settlements in cases administered under the SCC Rules. The panel examined how settlement enables businesses to resolve disputes more efficiently, preserve commercial relationships, and reduce both time and costs when compared to a full arbitration or litigation process.

Navigating Dispute Resolution in Cross-Border Contracts with Chinese Entities

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China hosted jointly with the SCC Arbitration Institute an online webinar on navigating dispute resolution in cross-border contracts with Chinese entities. The discussion addressed the importance of making an active choice regarding the method of dispute resolution in international contracts and provided practical tips and strategies for drafting effective dispute resolution clauses. The webinar highlighted the advantages of arbitration for international businesses operating in China.
