Exciting New Features in SCC Platform Upgrade

The SCC Arbitration Institute's SCC Platform is set to receive a significant upgrade with the introduction of brand-new design and technical solutions designed to enhance user experience and streamline arbitration proceedings. This upgrade brings a host of new features and improvements that promise to make the SCC Platform more efficient and user-friendly. From simplified document management to seamless scheduling and improved communication, these updates are set to make a significant impact on the efficiency in SCC arbitrations.

File Uploader: Simplifying Document Management

One of the standout features of this upgrade is the new file uploader. This tool allows users to upload documents with ease, tagging them with metadata for better organisation and preparation for the final hearing. Users can now drag and drop files directly onto the home dashboard, making it easier to manage submissions and exhibits. Legal and fact exhibits can be marked accordingly, and documents can be tagged with relevant dates. Tagging the legal and fact exhibits with a document date will provide a useful tool in creating timelines and in preparing future submissions and oral statements. The enhanced file uploader provides an overview before upload is confirmed which safeguards that only the correct documents are uploaded to the SCC Platform. These features ensure that all files are organised and easily accessible.

File Table: Enhanced Document Navigation

Navigating through uploaded documents has never been easier with the new file table feature. This table displays all uploaded documents, allowing users to filter and search files using the metadata applied with the file uploader. This feature provides a clear and organised view of all files, making it simple to locate and manage documents. You click a file to open it, and you can download it directly from the table. Export the table to view it in Excel.

Calendar Integration: Seamless Scheduling

The integration of Teams and Outlook with the SCC Platform is another major enhancement. This feature allows meeting invitations to be sent from the SCC Platform, including Teams links, improving the overall user experience. This feature enables attorneys and parties to include invitations in their own calendars. Arbitrators can keep track of attendance directly from the SCC Platform, ensuring that everyone stays on schedule.

Case Dashboard: A Modernised Interface

The case dashboard has been updated to offer an even better, modern presentation. This bespoke dashboard ensures that users have access to the information they need in a clear and organised manner. The new file uploader is included on the case dashboard which saves time in uploading your submissions. Our added FAQ with user guidance details makes it easier to find the information you need in no time.

Announcements Panel: Improved Communication

The announcements panel has been revamped to allow arbitrators to customise announcements to either the parties or only the SCC Secretariat directly from the home page. Announcements are colour-coded based on their type and tagged with applicable categories, making it easy to identify who the announcement is visible to.

User Feedback at the Core

User needs have played a central role in shaping the 2025 update.

“User feedback has been instrumental in shaping the planned changes,” says Madeleine Thörn, Deputy Secretary General at the SCC. “We established a working group that provided valuable input, which has been carefully considered in tailoring the new features.”

In addition to the working group, feedback was collected via email and ongoing conversations with arbitration participants.

“The new features are intuitive and largely self-explanatory. To further assist users, we have prepared a video explaining some of the new features, and a guide will also be available.” says Madeleine Thörn. “Additionally, the Secretariat is always here to help with any questions you may have.”
