Initiate mediation

A request for mediation may be submitted to the SCC by one of the parties, or by both parties jointly. 

The request must be in writing and contain: 

1. the names and addresses of the parties and their representatives, telephone numbers and email addresses
2. a summary of the dispute 
3. whether the parties have agreed to mediation.  

If the request for mediation is received from only one of the parties, the SCC will forward the request to the other party and ask whether they agree to participate in the mediation.

Registration fee 

Under the SCC Mediation Rules, the registration fee for mediation is EUR 1,500 excluding VAT (EUR 1,875 including VAT). 

VAT does not have to be paid by businesses based outside Sweden. European Union businesses must provide their VAT registration number.
