Meet the newest members of the SCC legal team
This month, we are delighted to welcome Adéle Franck and Alice Forssell to the SCC legal team. Adéle joins as Legal Counsel in Division 3, whilst Alice takes on the role of Senior Legal Counsel. We spoke with both Adéle and Alice to learn more about their backgrounds and what they bring to the team.
Welcome to the SCC Board
The SCC Arbitration Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Crina Baltag as Vice Chairperson and Alicja Zielińska-Eisen as a new member of the SCC Board, as per 1 January 2026. These appointments further strengthen the Board’s expertise and reinforce the SCC’s role in international dispute resolution.

What does it cost?
The costs consist of the fee to the arbitrators/mediator, the administrative fee of the SCC and any expenses incurred.
The SCC determines the costs based on the amount in dispute, which is the total value of all claims, counterclaims and set-offs. This means that the parties often can anticipate the arbitration costs. Use the calculator to estimate such costs.
When the amount in dispute exceeds EUR 100 000 000 the SCC Board determines the Advance on Costs based on a case by case analysis.

Settling disputes – step by step
An arbitration can only take place if there is an arbitration agreement between the parties. We recommend that a dispute resolution clause is included in any business agreement.
