Join us for this timely SCC Conference on "Experiences and Insights from Emergency Arbitrations involving Sovereign States”, taking place alongside the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court competition.
The Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court is the oldest and most prestigious student competition in the area of investment protection law.
In this year's moot problem, the participants have grappled with certain legal questions arising out of the decision of an emergency arbitrator appointed under the SCC Rules.
Over the years, the SCC has played a prominent role as a neutral forum for disputes between investors and states. Moreover, as one of the pioneers of the emergency arbitrator mechanism, the SCC thus has a long experience of administering such cases, both in the commercial and investment arbitration contexts.
At this interactive event, participants will hear firsthand experiences and insider insights from a variety of qualified perspectives on the emergency arbitrator mechanism, from the request for appointment, to the decision, and beyond.
