Meet the SCC: Evidence in International Arbitration – Comparative perspectives
Many international arbitrations, particularly those in the construction sector, can concern a considerable volume of oral and written evidence. How do we ensure the proper handling of evidence in international arbitration? SCC Board Member Eva Kalnina will discuss this issue together with international arbitration practitioners and academics in London on 19 June.
Since international arbitration can involve multiple international parties, highlight differences in legislation and practice between countries, it can create complications regarding evidence and the expectations on the dispute resolution mechanism.
SCC Arbitration Institute is supporting an event on evidence in international arbitration, organized by the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London. Our goal is to address challenges that occur in disputes and contribute to improved proceedings in the future.
We delve into the role of witnesses and experts in the evidentiary process, as well as discuss how to handle disclosure, admissibility, and evaluation of evidence to only use relevant and reliable evidence in deliberations.
