As commercial disputes become more complex and larger, is mediation the key to resolving them?

We will discuss this in a round table discussion in Swedish, moderated by Madeleine Thörn, Deputy Secretary General and Head of Operations at the SCC.

rundabordssamtal medling

Listen to Gert Nilsson Eldrimner, mediator and lawyer, Nicklas Söderberg, mediator and senior judge, and Polina Permyakova, partner and lawyer, share their experiences and thoughts on the use of mediation in Sweden and abroad. What are the benefits of mediation as a dispute resolution method, and what trends have they seen?

Then the conversation will be opened up to all participants about the use of mediation in commercial disputes today and in the future. Among other things, we will discuss:

  • Is facilitative or evaluative mediation preferable? Are there situations where one is more appropriate than the other?
  • Can mediation be the solution to the problem of the increasing number of construction disputes that become unreasonably extensive and complex in relation to the value of the dispute?
  • How do you build trust between the parties to get to the heart of the issues and improve the chances of reaching an agreement?
  • International perspective - why is mediation so widely used in Denmark and the UK?

We look forward to an enriching conversation!
